I like high res videos, especially since we have the ability to do it easily now.
Anyway, the internet’s most popular rapper these days took some time to do an interview with Eighty81. I like this guy because it seems like he actually gives thought to his answers and he enjoys talking to interviewers (see the Complex interview for another example).
The news just came in via October’s Very Own, that Drake’s So Far Gone, is dropping this Thursday. You’ll be able to get it here for the recession friendly price of Free-99.
With all the attention Drake has been getting, So Far Gone has to be the most anticipated release of 2009 so far. Ironically enough, it’s a mixtape and something you don’t have to pay for. How’s that make you feel, music industry? Anyway, above is the official “let’s-get-hype-for-my-release” YouTube video.
I also threw in the new Drake track, “Ignorant Shit,” featuring Lil Wayne, because somehow it didn’t make it here when it dropped 2 days ago. In these times, 2 days feels like 2 months with releases. Either way, you have it now to tease you til Thursday.
Here’s a leak from Drake’s upcoming mixtape, So Far Gone. That mixtape should be hitting the internets soon, like in-the-next-few-weeks soon. If you haven’t seen the artwork for the mixtape either, that’s the presumed cover-art above. “Unstoppable” was produced by Diplo (Santogold and Diplo together? Shocking).
With any justice, of all these rappers on the cusp on blowing up this year, Drake will be one of them. It doesn’t hurt to have Weezy cosigning you when he’s in his prime either.
See if you can catch my favorite line. I’ll give you a hint: it’s about everyone’s favorite 90’s sitcom starring Fred Savage’s younger brother.
I thought this was among the best cuts from 808’s & Heartbreak, and I was definitely looking forward to hearing the inevitable freestyles, and Drake has delivered. I’m not only saying he delivered with the very fact he gave us a freestyle, but it’s actually a good one. Drake’s good MC to keep your eye on too.
