Ever since the Panamanian girls caused Pan-demonium (that was lame) and the ode song by BK Cyph dropped, you knew that it was going to become the norm when any interesting pictures came out.
Well Rihanna just had to one up Cassie, and Wiz Khalifa had to one-up the rest of the rap world with his own ode/freestyle. And here it is, over Drake’s “You the Best” beat. This was some week for pop starlets, sheeeeet.
Here’s a cut from Boaz’s The Audio Biography album. He teams up with fellow-Pittsburgher and 2ManyMCs regular, Wiz Khalifa. Sometimes when you get two guys from the same city together on a record, it comes off as disingenuous or forced. This is record is the complete opposite. Whoever produced it had perfect sense to put Wiz on this track. Both him and Boaz sound right at home. I’d venture to say it’s the best Boaz track I’ve been sent.
The Audio Biography is out now, and can be purchased on
Wiz just sent on over the second leak from his upcoming mixtape Flight School, which is due out this month. I’m hoping that wasn’t an April Fools joke on the part of Wiz’s people.
I wonder if he’s mad that one of Kanye’s “return to rap” tracks has the same name as his mixtape (Flight School). I doubt it, but dumb Google searches will confuse them; especially on sites that have both like mine.
Pittsburgh, stand up! I was gonna hold off from gloating, but damn, my Steelers are 6 time Super Bowl champs! Who better discuss Pittsburgh with than Pittsburgh’s own Wiz Khalifa. Wiz gets a lot of love around here, and for good reason. He just broke us off with 3 freestyles over some beats you’ve probably been hearing a lot of lately. Wiz also dropped a lil video of the freestyles, which he did all in one night. Check it after the jump.
Pittsburgh’s own takes a stab at Ye’s opener on 808’s. Drake showed you the potential it has for rappers, and I don’t think Khalifa falls short at all.
I was trying to get this up earlier, but either way, here ya go. It’s lookin’ like it’s going to be week-of-the-mixtapes on 2ManyMCs (stay tuned for more). I listened to this earlier today, and I’m glad someone from Pittsburgh’s gettin’ some legit reps in this hip-hop thing.
Tracklist and a video of Wiz tellin’ you why you should cop the mixtape, inside.
